Dr. Fisher was born and raised in Richlands, North Carolina. He attended Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University. He received the degree of doctor of medicine in 1977. He then completed his internship and residency at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a commissioned officer with the United States Public Health Service Corps (USPHSC), Dr. Fisher served as the Chief Medical Officer of a public health center for three years. In 1983, Dr. Fisher moved to Marietta, Georgia where he began his private practice and joined the staff at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

Dr. Fisher was a member of the Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR) from 1986 - 1991 and served as Chairman of the Board from 1987 - 1989.
Dr. Fisher is an avid golfer and enjoys gardening and cooking during his free time. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity and a cofounder of BUY-Cobb, Inc.
Darlene Dotson, FNP-C
Ms. Dotson is a a board certified family nurse practioner and has been treating patients at HealthWise Internal Medicine for 20 years. She graduated with honors from Berea College with a BS in Nursing in 1996. Ms. Dotson went on to obtain her MS from Georgia State University.
Ms. Dotson is a member of the American Academy of Nursing Practioners and is certified in the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
